Deep-sea mining poses extinction threat to majority of hydrothermal vent molluscs, warns conservation body
The International Union for Conservation of Nature warns that deep-sea mining threatens 62 percent of mollusk species that live around hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor, with 125 of 201 known species at risk of extinction.
