Community Action Saves Majority of Homes in Kampung Nunuyan Laut Fire
Residents of Kampung Nunuyan Laut in Sandakan demonstrated quick thinking during an early morning fire, using borrowed water pumps to create fire breaks that protected 162 stilt houses. Despite their efforts, 28 homes were destroyed and 109 people displaced.
