Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged Johor residents to vote for leaders who embody integrity and wisdom, while rejecting those who become arrogant once in power. Speaking at a Pakatan Harapan rally in Muar on June 15, the PH Chairman cautioned against factions that weaponise racial and communal sentiments purely to secure votes, only to abandon their obligations afterwards.

Anwar stressed that responsible leadership is fundamental to shaping a state's trajectory and safeguarding the interests of ordinary citizens and disadvantaged communities. He warned against the politicisation of divisive emotions and urged voters to consider the broader consequences for the nation's future, its institutions, and coming generations.

The Prime Minister highlighted that state-level electoral victories are essential for Pakatan Harapan to harmonise Johor's development direction with the Federal Government's strategic objectives. Such coordination, he explained, would enable the state to fully capitalise on infrastructure initiatives and economic benefits emanating from major projects including the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and Port of Tanjung Pelepas expansion.

While acknowledging the state administration's contributions, Anwar emphasised that the Federal Government has driven implementation of these flagship schemes. He reiterated his expectation that elected state officials and representatives prioritise the welfare of grassroots communities over other considerations.

In a separate appeal, Anwar encouraged all eligible Johor voters—including those residing elsewhere—to return for the July 11 election and participate in shaping the state's future. He underscored that every ballot carries significance in advancing policy transformation and enabling citizens across all economic strata to benefit equitably from the state's economic expansion.
